The rainforests hold answers to questions we have yet to ask…

During your Cape Tribulation Day Tour, you will get to explore the oldest living rainforest on the planet, the Daintree Rainforest. After all, Cape Tribulation is truly where the Daintree Rainforest meets Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Great Barrier Reef and Cape tribulation
Where the Rainforest meets the Reef – literally!

To begin with, we will head north on the famous Great Barrier Reef drive. Wind your way north along 140km of gorgeous scenery. As an illustration, you will look to the left and find Rainforest covered mountainsides and luscious green scenery. To your right, gaze out over the shimmering waters of the expansive Coral Sea. In fact, on clear days, you can even see Green Island from the shoreline! This has to be the best scenic drive in Far North Queensland.

During the drive, we will make a short stop at Port Douglas. Take a walk along 4 Mile Beach, where the golden sands seem to stretch on forever. Here we will take a swim and enjoy some morning tea. Soon enough, it will be time to continue on our adventure into the Daintree.

By all means, a trip to Cape Tribulation is not complete without joining a Crocodile Cruise. After all, this corner of the world is where they call their home. We will jump onboard the Daintree Cruise to see these magnificent creatures up close. Even though your guide will point out the crocodiles lurking in the river, you will be safely tucked in the boat!

The oldest rainforest in the world

Once we arrive safely on the other side of the river it is time to explore the oldest living rainforest in the world. Join your guide on a boardwalk through the Rainforest, and learn all about the Rainforest ecosystem and its circle of life. After all, who better to learn from than someone who is there every day! There is so much wildlife to spot on your walks, and if you are lucky, even a cassowary! Just tell your guide what you are hoping to see and he will try to spot them for you!

After all our adventures, you would have worked up an appetite, so it’s time to grab some lunch at the beach. We have some free time to spend at the beach, whether you stretch your legs and take a walk or just relax in a food coma. Next, it is time to head off to our secret swimming hole, complete with a rope swing. Float in the crystal clear water while you gaze up at the rainforest canopy above you. Complete bliss!

Now that our day is coming to a close, it’s time to start our journey home. During the drive, we will stop and stretch our legs at some impressive lookouts. Here you can enjoy your unobstructed views of the expansive coastlines. After all, where better to snap that holiday selfie!

Perhaps you would like to spend more time exploring the Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation? On the other hand, why not extend your stay and stay overnight in both locations?
