All Great Barrier Reef tours from Cairns depart from the Reef Fleet Terminal, located on the Cairns waterfront at the Marlin Marina. Whether you’re staying in the city centre or nearby suburbs, getting there is easy — and we’re here to help you arrive calm, ready, and on time for your adventure!

🚶‍♀️ Walking from City Hotels

If you’re staying in the Cairns CBD, good news — most hotels are within walking distance of the Reef Fleet Terminal. Simply head towards the Esplanade and follow the signs to the Marina.

Walking time guide:

From Esplanade hotels: 3–10 minutes
From Grafton or Sheridan Street: 10–15 minutes
From Rusty’s Markets area: 10 minutes

The walk is flat, shaded in parts, and offers lovely views along the way. Just be sure to allow time for check-in.

🚖 How to get to the Marina Ride Share & Taxi Options

Cairns is well serviced by Uber, 13Cabs, and local taxis. It’s a quick and affordable option from most accommodation.

From Edge Hill or North Cairns: ~10–15 minutes
From Cairns South (Woree, Bayview): ~15–20 minutes
From Palm Cove: ~30–40 minutes (consider shuttle transfer)

Be ready early in case of morning traffic or high demand.

🚌 Hotel Pick-Up & Tour Transfers

Many reef tours offer optional hotel pick-up — be sure to book this in advance. Pick-up times are usually 45–60 minutes before departure, depending on your location.
